The Orillia Hawks are thrilled to partner with Backwoods Maple Syrup to bring our tournament families a one-of-a-kind experience -- the taste of local maple syrup.
Backwoods Maple Syrup is a family run maple syrup producer near Coldwater, Ontario, proudly operated by the Partridge and Vandergeest families. In 2006 Backwoods Maple Syrup began with just 40 pails and an outdoor fire, and by 2013 quickly grew to include a custom-built wood & propane evaporator, supporting over 2,000 taps on 20 acres. In 2023 Backwoods Maple Syrup purchased a120 acre sugar bush and constructed a brand new sugar shack. They added 3,400 new taps and installed a brand new vacuum system. Backwoods is a proud supporter of our local community, attending and sponsoring many events in Orillia, Coldwater and the surrounding areas.
